off to mendoza
i got back to buenos aires this morning, after a lovely boat ride on a beautiful spring morning over the river from colonia del sacramento, uruguay. i loved uruguay, i wish i´d had more time there. sandy beaches, beautiful old colonial architecture, friendly people, laid back atmosphere...what´s not to like? anyhow, in buenos aires a few more hours, then up into the andes to mendoza!

We love your blogs. I tell all my old friends that I read blogs from my grandson, and they are amazed. Did I ever tell you about my crossing the Andes by boat in 1982? I flew to San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina, and ultimately took boats and buses to Puerto Monti in Chili. Great trip! I recommend it if you can make it.
that sounds like a great way to cross the andes! i´m still debating whether to loop north or south to cross back into chile. the atacama desert to the north of chile sounds worth visiting, but the lakes district and bariloche sounds great too. will decide by the end of the week which to do. glad you´re enjoying the posts!
